Tri Sigma Foundation Board Chair JeanMarie Komyathy Mattingly, Gamma Kappa–Marietta College, was recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Volunteer by the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, Tuesday, Aug. 26. FFE annually presents this honor to an individual within the fraternal community who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills in major fundraising projects for a fraternity or sorority.
JeanMarie has volunteered for Tri Sigma for more than three decades. Her leadership journey includes service on the Foundation Board from 2011–2017 and again from 2019 to today. She has served as Treasurer, Secretary, and is in her final term as Board Chair. She is an Ever Forward Member of Tri Sigma and is part of the Foundation’s Williams Society and Pillars of Sigma.
Over the past several years, she has been the driving force behind some of the Foundation’s most ambitious fundraising efforts, including spearheading their first-ever comprehensive campaign: "They Did. You Can. We Will." She has been a strong advocate for increased support of the Amplifying Sorority Campaign and made a personal gift of $10,000 to the Piazza Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research and Reform to further the center’s work to advance and safeguard the future of the fraternity/sorority experience.
JeanMarie was joined at the banquet by her husband, David Mattingly, Foundation Board member Amy Keith Buchheit (Beta Xi), Foundation Executive Director Shelly Brajkovich Bateman (Beta Epsilon), Foundation staff Sydney Haven (Eta Alpha), Elizabeth Grey, and Ellen Herbig (Beta Beta), Tri Sigma Executive Director Jenna Martin Pendry, and former Foundation Executive Director Meghan Paden.
“JeanMarie’s belief in the mission, paired with her willingness to lead from the front, has created a ripple effect that strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful programming, scholarships and member support,” said Shelly Bateman in JeanMarie’s nomination letter. “She meets regularly with donors, initiates personal outreach, and plays a hands-on role in every phase of campaign planning and execution.”
