Oral History Project
Tri Sigma is excited to partner with PCI—also known as Publishing Concepts—to verify and update alumnae data, as well as collect alumnae stories for the Tri Sigma Oral History Publication! The publication will share memories and stories across generations and will be available for Tri Sigma members to purchase.
For more information, please review the frequently asked questions below.
We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an Oral History Publication for Tri Sigma. PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas, Texas, that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation for over 100 years.
This project allows us to hear about your personal experiences and how the organization has shaped your life since joining. And, while we have you on the phone, we want to make sure your contact information is current.
Depending on the information we have on file for you, you'll receive a postcard like the one shown below, an email, a or phone call with a request for you to participate in this project by calling a toll-free number. Upon calling, a PCI representative will give you a brief overview of the project and confirm your willingness to participate in Tri Sigma's Oral History Project.
Once you've confirmed or updated your contact information, you'll be asked a few questions regarding your collegiate experience and other impactful ways Tri Sigma has been part of your life. These answers will become part of Tri Sigma's oral history—and much of it will be used to compile a hardbound coffee-table style book full of photos, stories and precious memories from Tri Sigmas throughout time.
If you're interested in receiving a copy of the Tri Sigma Oral History—available in both a printed and audio version— there are a variety of options for purchase. Your PCI representative can discuss these with you at the conclusion of your call.
This project provides a number of benefits to Tri Sigma. As data collection and verification is a huge undertaking, this partnership with PCI allows NHQ to keep in touch with members on important and local matters.
Stories matter—and we want to hear yours. Sharing and collecting stories preserves the history of Tri Sigma—what better way to celebrate our 125th anniversary year!
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to pay your voluntary alumnae dues. While not required for continued membership, your alumnae dues help fund important operational efforts, including much-needed technology and educational opportunities for collegians and alumnae. Tri Sigma also receives royalties on merchandise sales.
PCI is committed to protecting your information. The names, addresses, and information provided to PCI for the publication of the Oral History Project will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Oral History Project and except as required by court order or law. It will only be shared with Tri Sigma National Headquarters and the Tri Sigma Foundation.
If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Oral History Project. The representative will verify the information we have on file for you, make any updates where needed, and then ask you to share your Tri Sigma story. Your story will be recorded, and the sound clip will be provided to NHQ at the conclusion of the project.
If you received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information and submit a story. If you did not receive a postcard or email, you may call Tri Sigma's dedicated line at 1-855-254-5827.
If you live internationally and are unable to call in to share a story, you will receive an email in early July with your personalized link to submit a written story.
Of course! Please email customerservice@publishingconcepts.com. PCI will send you a personalized link for you to share your written story and photo.
You can call back at any time before Aug. 4, 2023 to share your story.
PCI will only include your name and chapter, along with your story and photo. No contact information is printed. When you call to update your contact information, it is only used to update your Tri Sigma membership record.
You may revoke consent for your story and/or photo to appear any time before Aug. 4, 2023, by contacting PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 or customerservice@publishingconcepts.com.
All members may not be asked the same questions. However, here are a few topics you may be asked about:
- Why did you join Tri Sigma?
- Your collegiate experience with Tri Sigma
- Friendships you developed within the sorority
- What have you gained as a Tri Sigma alumna
- Your favorite Tri Sigma memories
You will receive an email with a link to upload one photo and a caption. The photo may be color or black and white.
If you have also purchased a book but do not have an email address on file, you will be sent a photo mailer to send a physical photo in to be printed. The photo will be returned if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Nope! Our primary goal is to ensure we keep in touch with our 136,000+ lifetime members.
The Tri Sigma Sorority Oral History Publication is available for sale only to Tri Sigma members.
At the end of your call, you will have the option to purchase the publication along with a variety of other items; however, you are not required to purchase anything to participate. Prices begin at $170 for a 300+ page hardbound book full of Sigma stories and images.
Books will be distributed in February-April 2024.
Contact PCI's customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 or email customerservice@publishingconcepts.com to cancel your order.
