Foundation Executive Director Search

The Tri Sigma Foundation is seeking an Executive Director to lead the philanthropic arm of the Tri Sigma Sorority. The Foundation raises funds to provide innovative leadership training for women, awards scholarships to members, and offers grants that support child life programs at hospitals around the country and to March of Dimes.

We’ve done a stellar job laying the groundwork and building the infrastructure necessary to prepare our organization to catapult its growth. This is evidenced by:

  • A professional staff of 5 talented women who work hard because they are passionate about our mission.
  • An amazing group of Board Members who are strategic thinkers, proficient at running a governance board, and understand how to best support the operational needs of the Foundation staff so that they can excel.
  • A thorough set of standard operating procedures, processes, and systems to ensure operational efficiencies and consistent quality work product.
  • An operational budget of just under $1 million with an established reserve account to ensure the organization’s sustainability.
  • A history of annual giving campaign success and growth—even throughout the uncertainty of the past two years. For example, our 2022 Giving Day Campaign raised 146% of its goal through almost 1500 gifts and included nearly 250 new donors!
  • A growing group of high-dollar gifts, including a 6-figure pledge and our first 7-figure pledge through our Heritage Society planned giving program.

How You’ll Spend Your Time

You will report to the Chair of the Board of Directors and work collaboratively with the Board to manage our strategic priorities. You’ll manage our professional staff and ensure that each team member excels in their role. You’ll be responsible for establishing a roadmap and implementing initiatives necessary to achieve our 3-year strategic plan, oversee our annual development strategy, manage annual fundraising efforts and donor relations, and oversee the entity’s financial management.

In the first 90 days, you will:

  • Establish relationships with key donors and board members.
  • Create a roadmap for implementing our 3-year strategic plan by identifying key initiatives, action items, and SMART goals.
  • Assess the next steps for implementing a comprehensive campaign and make a recommendation to the Board on how to proceed.


What We’re Looking For

We hire talented people who demonstrate a track record of accomplishments and display the skills we’ve identified as keys to our future success. We’re looking for someone who is donor-centric, collaborative, flexible, and purpose-driven. CFRE certification, experience with iMIS database, and membership in Sigma Sigma Sigma or another fraternal organization are all preferred but not required.

Details You’ll Want to Know

This is a full-time, 100% remote position, which means daily phone and video calls. You’ll need a quiet, dedicated workspace with high-speed internet. We work hard to maintain 40-hour work weeks and support flexible schedules for everyone on the team. Some meetings with volunteers, Board members, and donors occur during evening hours, so we expect you to shift your work schedule to accommodate those commitments. Occasionally, you’ll need to travel by car or plane to meet with donors or for meetings, conferences, or events.

The salary band for this position is $95k-$105k. In addition, we offer the following benefits:
