The Tri Sigma Officer Academy is a regional program for newly elected officers to learn to lead using the values of Tri Sigma as their guide. This is more about skill development for women leaders than position training.

The locations and dates for the 2011 Officer Academy are:

Chapter Presidents will spend time reviewing and understanding the chapter support plans.    Vice Presidents will spend time understanding the Arc Sequence and how best to implement and use the online education as well as information on Arc leaders and Big Sisters.  Education Directors will spend time on the Triangle Sequence and leave with a wealth of information on best to implement that sequence in their chapter.  Membership Recruitment Directors will work on recruitment plans aimed specifically for the type/style of recruitment for the chapter.

Dates/Locations/Lodging:

January 7 - 9:  The Lodge at Simpsonwood, Georgia - Lodging in the Lodge Hotel.  You will be rooming with your fellow chapter officers.

January 7 - 9:  Indiana University at Pennsylvania, PA - Lodging at the Holiday Inn, .5 miles from campus.  You will be rooming with your fellow chapter officers.

January 28 - 30:  Northern Illinois University, Illinois - Lodging at the Northern Illinois University Holmes Student Center Hotel.  You will be rooming with your fellow chapter officers.

Airport Shuttle Transportation:

There will be a shuttle from the Atlanta (Hartsfield-Jackson) Airport and the Chicago (O’Hare) Airport to the Officer Academy site.  If you need to fly, please consider flying into one of these locations.

Once you have booked your flight, please send the flight information (airline and arrival/departure times) to csmithhisler@trisigma.org so that we can make appropriate shuttle arrangements.

Registration:

·      Registration will open on Friday, November 5

·      Once registered, you will receive a confirmation packet with specific information pertaining to your site and weekend.

·      $110 per participant = $440 per chapter.  Your chapter was billed this amount as a part of the October billing.  The registration fee covers lodging, food, snacks and all materials.

·      On a first come, first serve basis, chapters may send additional officers/chairmen to the Officer Academy.  Email csmithhisler@trisigma.org to inquire about sending additional officers.

Registration Deadline (for both names and fees):         December 1, 2010

·      There will be a $25 late fee assessed per late registration, so registrations received on or after Dec. 2. 

·      There will be a $25 change fee assessed per change made after January 3.

·      No changes will be accepted after Dec. 17 for the Georgia and Pennsylvania locations.

·      No changes will be accepted after Jan. 14 for the Illinois location.
